Blizzard Skiing is able to pre book your skiing lessons in all of the resorts we offer.
However if you wish to learn how to ski before you go or just go on a refresher course we can also assist you with dry slope skiing lessons before you go on your skiing holidays. for more information on learningf to ski before you go send us and e mail to info@skiing.co.za
What is dry slope skiing?
Dry slope skiing is done on either a revolving carpet or on a sloped carpet to give you the feeling of skiing and what to expect when you hit the slopes. Although this will never replace the sensation of skiing on cold crisp snow it will certainly get you ready to take on the real slopes on your skiing holidays.
By learning to ski on a dry slope you will save lots of time on the beginners slopes, often down in the village. The quicker you learn to ski the quicker you get to go to the top of the mountain where the real skiing takes place and where you get to experience the beautiful views - 360 degrees of snow capped mountains.
Dry Slopes Skiing for Beginners
- For the beginner skier, dry slope skiing will teach you how to:
- How to put on your boots
- How to walk in your ski boots
- How to put on and take off your skis
- Basic movements in skis
- The snow plough position (the basic position required for all ski movements)
- Basic turns.
- By learning all the above before you go skiing you will save a lot of time in the ski resort and move straight onto the fun stuff. We still recommend you take a ski instructor for the first day or so of your skiing holiday as the skiing sensation will be a little different but dry slope skiing will certainly give you the advantage to take your skiing to the next level.
Intermediate Skiers
For the intermediate skier that has not been skiing for a while dry slope skiing shake off all the cob webs and make sure that you are ready to hit the slopes with confidence when you arrive on your skiing holiday.

Low Season: (1 April. - 15 Oct.) R275 per Lesson
Shoulder Season: (16 Oct. -10 Nov.) R295 per Lesson
High Season: (11 Nov. - 15 Jan.) R350 per Lesson
Shoulder Season: (16 Jan. - 31 Mar.) R295 per Lesson
Ski Fit: R250 per Session
(For those who know how to ski and don’t want an instructor. This can also be taken after the beginner course is complete.)
Discounts:
- Book three or more lessons and receive 10% discount.
- Book a full course of six lessons and receive 15% discount.
- Juniors (under 16) get 25% discount on all lessons.
